September 14, 2008 20:17:25
Australian military police in East Timor have launched an investigation into a car accident involving two Australian soldiers.

An Australian Defence Force spokesman says no one was injured in the accident in Dili late on Saturday night. Eye witnesses say the soldiers were traveling in a civilian taxi when it crashed into the side of a bridge. Several eye witnesses including the owner of the taxi say one of the soldiers was driving at the time of the incident. Australian military police in conjunction with the United Nations police have launched an investigation. The ADF spokesman says the professional conduct of Australian Defence Force personnel on operation is taken very seriously, and any appropriate action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
